Introducing Revival Ranches

We have received new meat chicks the week of February 12th and they have been doing really well. We have had them under heat until this week. They are currently in a small chick run area where they are able to be inside or outside and they have access to water and food inside and outside and we are encouraging foraging. The chicks are nearly feathered and will soon be moving our to pasture inside the electric poultry netting. The chickens will be rotationally  grazed behind the pigs to make the best of the insects and to pick through the ground the pigs have disturbed. The pigs also leave a lot of feed behind mixed in the ground because they are such messy eaters and the chickens do a great job at finding all of it. The pigs are still currently sleeping in the pig car port as a winter shelter but they are still rotated to pasture that they have access to at all times. Soon the pigs will move away from the pig carport and onto pasture full time. They will not have a full enclosure but more of a movable leanto made from an old boat trailer. This allows us to move the pigs around more of the land without having to make a way for them to get back to the pig carport. -BIG NEWS- we are making our first youtube video that will be an introduction to the ranch and everything that lives here.
